THE FIRST DANCE

Three minutes,
everyone will watch

Most couples arrive with the same two sentences: “We can’t dance” and “We don’t want to look silly.” Good. That is exactly where a first dance starts.

You don’t need rhythm, experience, or a partner who has secretly done this before. You need a song you love, a few evenings together, and someone who has choreographed this moment many times.

At Prestige, wedding couples work one-on-one with an instructor in private 45-minute lessons — no group, no audience, no rush. We build the dance around your song, your venue, your dress and your comfort level: a slow, romantic sway that photographs beautifully, a proper waltz or rumba, or a routine with a lift and a dip your guests will still be talking about at brunch the next morning.

HOW IT WORKS

From "we cannot dance" to the last note

Five steps, four lessons, one dance. Here is what actually happens between the day you call and the moment the DJ says your names.

I.

Consultation

Tell us the date, the song (or the shortlist), the venue floor, and how brave you’re feeling. We suggest a dance style that fits the music and the two of you.

II.

Music

We map the song together — where the intro ends, where the chorus lifts, where you want the moment. If the track needs a clean edit to a sensible length, we’ll say so.

III.

Choreography

Your instructor builds the routine piece by piece: an entrance, a few figures you can actually remember, and a finish that lands on the last note. Chosen for how it looks and how it feels, in that order.

IV.

Practice

Lessons two, three and four are repetition until it’s automatic. You leave with homework you can do in the kitchen and a video of the routine on your phone.

V.

Perform

On the day, the routine is yours. Look at each other, not your feet, and let the room disappear for three minutes.

WHEN TO START

The earlier, the calmer

There is no wrong time to call — only more or less room to breathe. Where do you fall on the calendar?

3 months

Three months out — ideal

Book the consultation and lock a weekly lesson slot. There is room for a more ambitious routine, and room for life to get in the way without anyone panicking.

6-8 weeks

Six to eight weeks — comfortable

Four lessons fit neatly at one a week, with a fortnight of kitchen practice before the day. This is where most of our couples start.

3-4 weeks

Three to four weeks — still very doable

We simplify the choreography, never the polish. A beautiful, confident sway beats a rushed routine every single time.

2 weeks

The last two weeks — call anyway

Even a single lesson turns a nervous shuffle into something you’ll be glad you did. We’ll find you a time.
